Roleplaying a Mountain Dwarf: As a race, mountain-dwarves are one of the more civilized. They are builders of a mighty kingdom which lies beneath the great mountain Horvald, with the jewel of their nation, Stalthaart, as the capitol. Dwarves also happen to be one of the more prosperous races, their economic powers and wily trading skills second only to that of the avians. Skilled with a forge, any dwarf worth his ale has a vast knowledge on metallurgy, craftsmanship, and goldsmithing. A dwarf is an interesting character to play, one deceivingly simple at the outset. Though rather isolationist, when forced to converse with other races you tend to do the job well. You are viewed as a cheerful tradesman and a fierce warrior. You love swinging your axe and find schoolrooms a waste of time. You take great pride in your beard. You are honorable and brave with a strong sense of loyalty to your clan. Below that cheerful persona however you are part of a complex society with multiple interest and scheming is not above your nature. Dwarves are the favoured children of Golon, from who they have inhereted their love of battle, gold and ale. They are generally not troublemakers or rebels and thus tend to walk a more lawful path. Like their god, dwarves follow a neutral alignment as there is rare impetus for dwarves to be either good or evil. Though dwarves of extreme alignment or tendency do exist they are a rare occurence. |
