Roleplaying a Merman/Mermaid: As one of the merfolk you are one of the most beautiful races in the realm, but by no means are you limited to that. You have the arrogance of an elf, and the curiosity of a faerie. Slightly more agile than most races, the merfolk are a fairly well rounded people. Unfortunately, all children of Khalith have a strong weakness for humans, and their hearts in the end rule them. A precious few venture farther than the coast of the continents, and fewer still decide to remain in the unknown dry lands. This makes those that enter the dry world of Kythandria mostly timid in the very beginning. Their ability to blend however, and strong minds make them highly adaptable. Most pretend that they are elves, or humans to make it easier for them to gain acceptance. What you have, you usually flaunt, sometimes uncontrollably. Even the ugliest of mer still rival the most beautiful of other races. It is for this reason that the mer are generally not well received. This combination of factors, specially their propensity to follow their heart, leads most mer towards chaos and neutrality rather than the rigid path of the lawful. Though haughty you are rarely truly evil, in fact most merfolk's dispositions are either neutral or good. |
