The Mage

Arcane wisdom and manipulation of cosmic forces are the Mage's stock in trade. In a hostile world, his power to become invisible, to see in the dark, to control his surroundings and shield himself with magic allows him to come through many bad situations unscathed. His control over the destructive forces of nature enable him to be the most fearsome of foes. All this power comes at a price however; the required years of intense study do not allow for much physical conditioning, thus the mage is the least physically durable class.

All mages begin with skill in the dagger. Any other weapon skills must be purchased, at a very high rate. The default skill selection for mages is as follows:

Dagger  - melee weapon of choice for all mages
Scan  - allows you to look before you leap
Dodge  - avoid blows in combat
Scrolls  - allows you to study and cast magics written on parchment
Wands  - who heard of a mage without knowledge of wands

Realms:
Alteration   - spells that change the physical nature of things
Conjuration  - spells that create something from nothing
Essence  - spells of the essence of the elementals
Evocation  - offensive magics used for combat
Necromancy  - spells that affect life force and physical condition
Summoning  - spells of transportation
